Equine Canine Therapy

NEWS

April 2011

Welcome all! I have been playing about with my website and decided to add an news page so that I can keep you all posted on any developments. I am always keen to hear feedback from my clients, some of you are very good but it is all to easy to only get in touch when there is a problem! I always consider management a huge part of what I do - My equissage machine is proving a huge success, it was a big investment for me but I use it often and can really feel the benefits in areas that are particularly sore.

This month has been busy and I have seen a quite a few interesting cases. As some of you know I have been laid up in hospital for the past week after a minor op but all is well now and I am back to it! Skye (dobermann) and Spice (labrador) have been excellent nursemaids, and husband Dan too but I am not sure he would appreciate me calling him a nurse maid! The horses are having a nice spring/summer holiday (as am I) and have been enjoying the sun, and my chickens have gone back to full laying mode. I am also breeding several varieties of chickens including silkies so get in touch if you are interested - they make great pets!

In more professional news I attended a seminar at Moreton Morrell just before Christmas which was very informative and was aimed at getting farriers and complementary therapists to work together. This is vitally important as back problems can be as a result of poor conformation in the limbs, I am always concious of asking details of any corrective shoeing a horse that I treat may be having.

I am still treating mainly Wednesdays and Fridays although I am flexible and do do evening appointments especially now we have those lighter evenings! Just drop me an email if you would like any further information.

Have a very happy Easter and enjoy the sunshine while it lasts!

October 2011

Hi everyone! I hope the summer has been kind to you all, I have had quite a busy time and am actually quite looking forward to the nights closing in ready for shorter days! I love the winter - it is a busy time for equine enthusiasts who are hunting and I know a few of you have been in touch for check ups before your horse undergoes the next stage of fittening ready for the season. It is a quieter time for all the agility fans but time to bring out the gun dogs ready for shooting! Its funny to think about how the different times of year affect peoples lives and of course their animals, but whatever your routine it is always a good idea for any animal in hard work to get checked for any back or muscle problems as if left they can become more of an issue later on and take longer to mend.

Many of you know I am expecting my own little bundle of joy of the human variety next February, so please take note! I am hoping to continue treating as long as possible before my due date but will more than likely be taking Febraury and March off. As I am sure you understand its not something I can plan too much! My advice is to get in touch with me via email (preferably) or phone and if I am fit and able I will book you in if not I will recommend someone you can see in my absence. I am hopeful that I will be able to do some evening clinics fairly soon after when baby is settled, plus I do have the faclities for horses do be brought here too if that is an option for some of you. I will keep you posted!

I have a new addition of the equine variety - Tia. A two year old welsh section B as a little project for next year (I like to keep busy?!) We are hoping to have a litter of pups from Spice our lab fairly soon too so please get in touch if you are interested.

Look after yourselves and see you soon!
